Prehold Inspections/ Enroute Surveys

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

These inspections are normally conducted at anchorage to enable vessel enough time to rectify any problems found to ensure no delay in berthing.  The purpose is to ascertain the suitability of the cargo space to receive the intended cargo (coal, alumina, alumininum hydroxide, grain etc).  This is to prevent possible contamination of the said cargo at any stage during loading, on passage under normal sea going conditions and discharge voyage.

Enroute surveys are carried out by our senior surveyors who guide and advise the master on hold preparedness.  This is done electronically and helps eliminate any delay to berthing.  Whilst our surveyors are meticulous in examining photographs and offering advice/guidance, a prehold inspection may be required at anchorage to ensure hold suitability.
